Measure. Flex. Done.

FlexScreen installs from inside, through the open window, in under a minute. Here is the whole process — including how to measure correctly.

  1. 01

    Measure the frame

Open the window fully. Measure the inside of the window frame: the width from left to right at the narrowest point, then the height from top to bottom. Note the smallest values in millimetres.

  2. 02

    Order made to measure

Enter your measurements in the configurator and pick your mesh. Every FlexScreen is welded exactly to your size — no cutting, no trimming at home.

  3. 03

    Flex it in

Hold the screen at both sides and bend the flexible frame gently inwards. Place the top edge into the window frame first, then let go — the frame springs back and clamps itself firmly in place.

  4. 04

    Live with open windows

Tilt, turn, close — your window works exactly as before. Need it out? Press gently outward on the mesh: the flexible frame contracts and the screen lifts free in seconds — for cleaning or winter storage.

Measuring guide

You measure on the inside of the fixed window frame — not the glass and not the sash. Open the window fully and measure the inner width and height of the frame opening.

  • Measure width and height at two points each — use the smaller value.
  • Round to the nearest millimetre; the flexible frame compensates up to 2 mm.
  • Typical plastic tilt & turn windows have a rebate depth of at least 15 mm — that is all FlexScreen needs.
  • Unsure? Send us a photo of your open window and we will check it for you.

Is your window suitable?

FlexScreen is installed between the window frame and the sash, so the window type matters. Check your window before ordering — when in doubt, send us a photo.

Works with

  • Offset uPVC windows

The common plastic tilt & turn window with an offset (stepped) sash. FlexScreen fits without any adapter profile, and the window stays fully operable.

  • Windows with a center seal

Suitable as long as there is a gap of at least 10 mm all around between the center seal and the window frame — the FlexScreen frame needs that space.

Not suitable for

  • Flush windows

When the sash closes flush with the frame there is not enough space: the mesh can get damaged when the window closes, and the window may no longer close properly.

  • Wooden windows

Modern and older wooden windows leave very little space between frame and sash — usually too little for the FlexScreen system.

  • Aluminum windows

Aluminum systems usually offer too little space and often have special sealing systems and sharp-edged corners that can damage or tear the mesh.

  • Windows with a weather profile

A protruding weather (rain) profile on the frame causes the mesh to tear when the window is closed — even on otherwise suitable uPVC windows.

Built-in ventilation grilles or trickle vents in the frame rebate can also be in the way. Not sure about your window? Send us a photo of the open window before ordering — we'll check it for free.
